THE LAW OF THREE(90) Depth or the Third Dimension of Wholeness (2)

LAW OF THREE (90)

DEPTH OR THE THIRD DIMENSION OF WHOLENESS (2)

“There is up and down and right and left, but there is also far and near which is the third dimension of space.  Ther third dimension of space manifests in us as “an experience of depth” We talk of our ordinary looking as being almost two dimensional and refer to the world of thoughts and reactions as flat – with good reason. But when the transition comes and there is depth, we find ourselves in a different state. We feel different. Indeed, the feelings become awakened, and a freshness comes."

Anthony Blake A Seminar on Time

Most of our life seems to take place in the confines of  a world with very little sense of the spatial reality or depth, where we miss the sense of wholeness.  But with the experience of depth our perception changes. A third dimension has been added to our body experience and our field of our awareness is expanded. In this new configuration our body seems much less solid than before, and its borders less defined

With the sudden awareness of the dimension of depth our experience is comparable to waking into a new dimension of ourselves.  From which perspective the two-dimensional world of thoughts seems like a dream. We are aware of presence.  The curtain of thoughts has lifted.  We have just discovered what it means to leave in a body.

The sudden awakening to the third dimension of space is not a “mystical” experience.  It does not put us in touch with a third world.  This experience, says Raimon Panikkar, puts us in contact with the third dimension of the one and the same manifest world, opening us up to a more real union with reality.

Conscious awareness of the inner dimension of depth may lead us to the stillnes of Presence.
