The greatest unitive force we know is Love, and it is generally agreed that love must be a Cosmic Power enveloping and reconciling all that exists. When we say God is Love, we may mean this or we may say more than we can hope to understand.

Every action in the universe requires energy. Without the appropriate energy the action cannot take place. Every action in which the human being participates, from the simplest physical work to divine revelation requires the appropriate form of energy in the right place and at the right time.
To drive a car it requires a combination of petrol-air-electric spark at the right timing.
Human beings are said to be constructed with all possible substances needed to perform any action.
If they seem not to be available, it is because we are cut off from some of them, all of them, or we are not in the right place and at the right time.
The possibilities at any moment depends on the energies available at present moment. Human beings are carriers of the third or reconciling force. The third force enables us to move in a non dual direction. In the paths of transformation, evolution, enlightenment, etc. we need to develop the power to move in a timeless direction (eternity) To sustain our evolution we need to cultivate the energy of Intention. If forget our Intention the directional energy of transcendence stops flowing and nothing happens: we remain locked in the time-space world of continuous repetition.
To sustain the power of Intention the method of Centering Prayer was developed by Thomas Keating. The intention during the practice of C.P. is to consent to God's presence and action within. In his process we aim at becoming receptive to actions coming from beyond ourselves . We need to be able to sustain an intentional effortless effort and free our mind from the dominance of the hypnotic forces of dualism. In other words we need to be able to "wait on God."
Conscious receptivity is raised through silence, meditation or letting go of thoughts and imagination. Supernatural action may enter our lives in the transformative substances of Hope, Faith and Love.
