Receptivity is
not inactivity. It is real activity but with no effort in the ordinary sense of
the word. If you want to call it
effort. keep in mind that it is totally unlike any other kind of effort. It is simply an attitude of waiting
for the Ultimate Mystery.

Antony Blake: One imagines that being able
to wait is such a small thing; but it is so powerful, so
fundamental. To be able to wait
"until the time is right" can transform everything. It seems as you are doing nothing: but this this precisely what you have to "do". If you can wait attentively without
doing anything while the attention is consciously waiting, then insights
may enter from another order.
As carriers of the 3rd or reconciling force
we have power to hold the space between two opposing forces. Without the separation of force 1 and force 2
and waiting with conscious attention (3rd force), true
discrimination and decision cannot enter the triad. But before waiting there must be
acceptance of the situation we are facing without taking sides. Acceptance enables us to stand between the
conflicting sides trusting that higher insights may enter our awareness.
When the power of waiting is not
present in our life, the three dimensional space world in which we live is
incomplete. It does not offer us the
ground of "silent waiting" where the will (our true I) can develop.
Conscious waiting enables us to rest
and act at the same time because it is rooted at the still source of rest and
action, .
Grounded in conscious waiting we may
be able to discern the difference between the chatter of the ego and the voice
of the deeper Self,
Receptive Waiting may be referred to
the practice of exercising our ears to hear the voice of our deeper Self.
